Italy — Alloggiati Web, transmitted with your own credentials
Where the accommodation has enabled Italian filing, BookCheckin itself transmits the declaration to Alloggiati Web, the Polizia di Stato portal, signing in with the username, password and WS Key your Questura issued to you, which you store encrypted in BookCheckin. This is the opposite of the Mossos and Ertzaintza routes: BookCheckin does the sending, not you. The deadline is 24 hours from arrival, or 6 hours for a stay of 24 hours or less. Once transmitted, a declaration cannot be cancelled or corrected from BookCheckin — only your Questura can act on it. The obligation stays yours: the establishment must already be registered for Alloggiati Web with its Questura, and BookCheckin can check that your credentials sign in, not that the registration is in order.

The legal obligation you cannot ignore
Spain has required tourist accommodations to register guest data with police since the Orden INT/1922/2003. The current framework — updated under Real Decreto 933/2021 — tightened the requirements significantly, adding more data fields and stricter deadlines.
Every property that accommodates paying guests is covered: hotels, hostels, apartments, rural houses, campsites, and even individual rooms rented via platforms. There are no exemptions for small operators.
The submission must be made within 24 hours of check-in. A missed submission — even for a single booking — is an infraction. Fines under the Ley Orgánica 4/2015 range from €600 (minor infractions) up to €30,000 for serious violations, with the possibility of suspension of the tourist licence in repeat cases.
Manual submission means logging into a government web portal, filling in a multi-field form for every guest, submitting, and saving the confirmation. For a property with 100 bookings a year, this is a full working week of administrative work — every year.
