Your guests let themselves in — no keys, no waiting
BookCheckin sends each guest a unique digital key that works only during their booking window. No more driving to the property for handovers. No more lost keys. No more late-night calls.

What Remote Access does
Smart lock integration ties access directly to the booking and guest registration — the guest only receives a key after they've completed check-in.
Unique time-limited access codes
Each booking generates a unique PIN or digital key valid only from the check-in time to the checkout time. It's impossible for guests to access the property early or stay beyond their booking.
Integrations with major smart lock brands
BookCheckin integrates with Nuki, Salto, Yale, Igloohome, August, and other leading smart lock providers. If you already have a smart lock installed, we connect to it. If not, we can recommend the right hardware for your property.
Access tied to registration completion
The digital key is only sent after the guest has submitted their registration and it has been validated. No registration — no access. This ensures you are always legally covered before anyone enters your property.
Remote lock and unlock
You can lock or unlock any connected property from your BookCheckin dashboard — from anywhere in the world. Early check-in request? Approve it with one click and the door unlocks.
Access logs for every entry
The dashboard records every lock event: when the door opened, which code was used, and at what time. In the event of a dispute or incident, you have a complete timestamped log.
Emergency override and revocation
Need to revoke a guest's access instantly? One click in the dashboard invalidates their code and locks the property. No need to physically change the lock or send a locksmith.
The hidden cost of physical key handovers
Key handovers are the single biggest operational time drain for short-term rental managers. A typical in-person handover — travelling to the property, waiting for the guest, showing them around, handing over the keys, leaving — takes 45 minutes to 1.5 hours per booking when you include travel time.
For a property with 80 bookings a year, that is between 60 and 120 hours spent on nothing but key logistics. That is two to three full working weeks, every year, just unlocking a door.
Physical keys carry additional risks: they can be copied, lost, or not returned. A lost key set costs €80–250 in locksmith fees and replacement. A copied key is a permanent security liability. With a smart lock, each booking gets a unique code that expires the moment checkout passes.
For guests, the experience of waiting for a host at 11pm after a delayed flight — then standing in the street — is one of the most common complaints in short-term rental reviews. Remote access eliminates this entirely. The guest arrives at any hour and walks straight in.
How remote access works
Guest completes registration
After the guest submits their identity documents and completes the Online Check-in, the access trigger fires automatically.
Unique access code is generated
BookCheckin generates a time-limited PIN or digital key specific to this booking — valid from the check-in time on arrival day to checkout time on departure day.
Code is sent to the guest
The access instructions — including the code, door number, and entry directions — are sent via WhatsApp, SMS, or email along with any other pre-arrival information.
Guest arrives and enters independently
The guest enters the code (or uses the digital key app) at the door. The lock records the event. No host presence, no waiting, no coordination.
Code expires at checkout
At the checkout time, the code automatically becomes invalid. The lock is secure before the next guest even checks in. No physical key collection required.
What you gain
Get back 60–120 hours a year
Stop spending your evenings and weekends driving to properties for key handovers. With remote access, every booking self-serves — you never need to be present at check-in.
Eliminate key-related security risks
Physical keys can be copied or not returned. With smart locks, each booking gets a unique code that expires automatically — no locksmith calls, no security worries.
Better reviews from international guests
Late arrivals from delayed flights are the most common source of check-in complaints. When guests can let themselves in at any hour, that complaint disappears from your reviews.
Full control from your phone
Lock, unlock, check access logs, and revoke access for any property — all from the BookCheckin dashboard on your phone. Complete visibility and control, wherever you are.
