Self check-in lets the guest walk in on their own, with nobody waiting with the keys. With BookCheckin they check in online before arriving and receive a temporary code for your smart lock (Nuki, TTLock or igloohome), valid only during their stay. Smart locks are on the Business plan and we set them up with you at each property.
What is self check-in?
It is arrival without a key handover: the guest gets in with a code or a digital key. Registering travellers is still compulsory, so the guest gives their details and document before entering.
How does self check-in work with BookCheckin?
1You send the check-in link
You create it by hand or sync it from your PMS or the iCal calendar; the guest receives it by email or WhatsApp.
2The guest fills in their details
On their phone they scan their ID card, NIE or passport, review their details and sign.
3Traveller registration
Everywhere else in Spain, the traveller report is filed automatically with SES Hospedajes. Catalonia and the Basque Country: BookCheckin runs the check-in and prepares the official file; you upload it to the Mossos d’Esquadra or Ertzaintza portal.
4They receive a temporary code
When they finish, the code is emailed to them if the link includes their email address. It is valid from their arrival to their departure.
5They let themselves in
They open the lock with the code and get in with nobody waiting with the keys.
Which smart locks are compatible?
Nuki, TTLock and igloohome. Connecting the lock and automating the codes is set up with our team on each property, and BookCheckin generates a different code for each booking.
